Serengeti's shared system with outside counsel for both matter management and electronic invoicing helps solve the "Garbage Data" problem and allows law departments to keep data current and complete:
  • Gather data at the source

    Unlike other systems that only permit in-house users to enter information, Serengeti connects your entire legal team (i.e. in-house staff, outside counsel, business managers, legal vendors, etc.). This allows you to assign the most appropriate person to input and maintain information in the system.
  • Tie law firm assignments to invoice delivery

    With Serengeti, if a company user makes a request of outside counsel (e.g. status report, budget, case summary, etc.) the system will not deliver the firm's invoices for that matter until the requirement is complete.
  • Set timing of data requirements

    When a matter is first created, there may be important information that is not yet known. To ensure that this missing data will be entered when it becomes available, Serengeti allows you to set a due date for the information. If the due date arrives and the data is incomplete, then the law firm can't post invoices to the matter or the company user can't approve invoices on the matter, depending on who is responsible for completing the information.
  • Create standardized templates and workflows

    In addition to building custom matter templates, Serengeti allows you to standardize requirements for each matter type (e.g. budget type, frequency of status reports, type of exposure assessments, which users are invited, etc.). This allows you to ensure that data is consistent and appropriate for each matter type.
  • Assign users with specific oversight

    Special system roles allow designated users to work from a single screen to oversee matter creation, service of process delivery, billing guideline compliance, and accounting code accuracy.
  • Review exception reports and dashboard alerts

    Pre-configured reports allow managers to quickly track invoices pending approval, invoice audit overrides, timekeeper rate changes, inactive matters, and other key exceptions. Dashboard alerts with optional emails provide users with notice of budget changes, status reports with significant developments, and matters with information due.
