From Potential Dispute to Resolution


Many companies find that in addition to tracking litigation, they need the ability to capture preliminary data about potential disputes. Serengeti allows your department to easily organize the large volumes of claims, incident reports, or other data that help you anticipate upcoming litigation. Once a suit is filed, Serengeti makes it easy to convert a potential dispute into a matter and collect additional information without any data re-entry.

Serengeti provides a number of tools designed specifically for simplifying the process of managing litigation:
  • Law Firm & Parties Conflict Check
    Quickly search across all matters or a group of matters to determine if a firm has been adverse in the past or if parties have appeared in other litigation.
  • Service of Process (S.O.P.) Module
    Retrieve S.O.P. records directly from your registered agent or input them yourself, then track response deadlines.
  • Budgeting by Litigation Phase
    Gather spending estimates by phases in the lifecycle of a case (e.g. Initial Case Assessment, Discovery, Trial Preparation, etc.), and then receive invoice audit alerts if spending exceeds the budget amount.
  • FAS 5 Exposure Reporting
    Rather than enter one exposure amount on a matter, companies can enable FAS 5 reporting. This feature provides a customizable series of questions for determining if a loss is material, and if so it allows in-house or outside counsel to provide the range of exposure estimates.
  • Key Dates and Automated Reminders
    Allow your outside counsel or internal legal department to keep the matter calendar up-to-date for you. You can then view a list of calendar events covering all projects for an individual or a group, receive email reminders, and export calendar dates to Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or to an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Online Repository of Litigation Documents
    Rather than sending faxes and emails of your key litigation documents, with Serengeti, your firms can post them directly in the system utilizing 128 bit encryption. This provides quick and organized access to complaints, pleadings, briefs, research, scheduling orders, etc. without having to request them individually from outside counsel.
  • Status Updates (Monthly or Quarterly)
    Receive periodic matter status updates from your outside counsel in one standardized format that includes key development alerts. Generate reports that summarize matter status for multiple matters in one screen.
  • Audit Letter Compiler
    Serengeti organizes the process of assigning and collecting case summaries for your audit letter directly from your outside counsel.
  • Subpoena Response Tool
    Significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to search, gather, and export any data in the system in a format that is easily shared.
