It’s easy for a company to claim that it has the “leading” system, and many do. However, if you dig deeper, you’ll find that most
vendors have little justification for such a claim. When it comes to
objective data there is only one leader among matter management and
e-billing systems – Serengeti Tracker.
Most widely used system
Serengeti has more than in-house
users at over corporate law departments
(including + Fortune 1000
corporations and + Fortune 500
corporations).
That is more customers than any other
vendor – including all vendors that provide e-billing, with or
without matter management. Serengeti also has more law firms
connected, including more than firms in
countries, with more joining daily.
Moreover, some vendors will quote you the total number of customers
on all of their products, including older versions. If you ask them
how many law departments are using the specific version of the
matter management/ e-billing product that you are considering, you
will find that Serengeti has significantly broader adoption.
Highest-rated system by both Law departments and firms
Recent independent surveys show that both law department and
law firm users rate Serengeti as the most preferred system.
Corporate law departments ranked Serengeti #1 based upon ease of use
and cost/value. The law firm survey placed Serengeti well ahead of
the next closest vendor by a factor of 3:1.
Industry Involvement and Leadership
Serengeti conducts an annual survey of
developments relating to outside
counsel management for the Association of Corporate Counsel. This survey has
involved more than 1,000 law departments and culminates in an annual
report of 150+ pages. Many law departments and law firms purchase
the reports each year to stay abreast of the latest trends in the
profession (it is provided without charge to Serengeti customers).
This annual report, and the system enhancements that come out of it,
help law departments on Serengeti utilize the latest management
techniques for their work.
Serengeti is also the most active company in contributing to the
industry's premier publications. To date, members of the Serengeti
team have
authored dozens of
articles for magazines such as Legal Times, Acc Docket,
Executive Counsel, and ILTA. In fact, Rob Thomas is one of the most
widely published experts of any vendor in the legal technology
industry.
First to Add Ground-breaking Features & best practices
Serengeti has consistently led
the field in responding to the latest developments in the in-house
legal profession, with a track record of frequent system
enhancements, most of which are still not provided by other
systems.
When Serengeti released Tracker in 2001, law departments were
using software or databases that required the manual entry of
voluminous information that was received on paper and emails from
their outside counsel. From its initial release, Serengeti Tracker
has given law departments totally new ways to work, effectively
setting new standards for the efficient management of legal work
with outside counsel.

CUSTOMER COMMENT
"Clear Channel was one of the first customers on Serengeti.
Over the years, we have benefited from 8 major releases—each of
which has incorporated customer feedback and delivered useful
new features. We have also watched them extend their legal
platform to firms and corporations worldwide. With Serengeti,
our widely dispersed legal teams have replaced much of the paper
that we used to receive with online data coming directly from
our firms.”
