Network Engineer

Job Summary
This is a full-time, permanent position in the Information Technology department. The Network Engineer’s role is to ensure the security, stability and integrity of both corporate and collocation site voice, data, video, and wireless network services. This is achieved by planning, designing, implementing and maintaining firewalls, local area networks (LANs), virtual LANs (VLANs), wide area networks (WANs), virtual private networks (VPNs) and network security protections. The Network Engineer will be the principle person installing, monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. This individual will analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion, monitor network security, respond to breach attempts and provide user training where required. The Network Engineer will also perform other duties as necessary. This position reports directly to the IT manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Formal Education & Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Networking and/or Information Security certifications are desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
  • 2+ years experience and strong, hands-on technical knowledge of Check Point NGX Firewalls (R60 or higher) and experience with other firewall and proxy technologies.
  • 3+ years experience with LAN, VLAN, WAN and VPN design and implementation.
  • 3+ years experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and network management practices.
  • Excellent internet, network and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with high availability 24x7x365 production internet operations
  • Strong, technical knowledge and experience with current networking hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, particularly HTTP; HTTPS; VPNs (SSL, IPSEC, SSTP & PPTP); VOIP, SMTP and routing principles.
  • Hands-on working knowledge of Network, Server operating systems, including Windows 2003/2008 Server and Linux (Fedora, Debian), which are used to host firewalls and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
  • Experience with Snort, Dell Switches and Sonicwall devices would be desirable.
Personal Attributes
  • US Citizen, “Green Card”, or work visa which does not require employer sponsorship.
  • Strong written, and oral communication skills. Ability to present complex ideas in user-friendly language to all levels of personnel (i.e. executive, management, coworker, customer).

Work Conditions
  • Commonly on-call via company provided cell phone/laptop.
  • Able to be physically on-site in the local collocation facility or corporate headquarters within 1 hour or less (in the event of a critical failure or outage) to analyze and perform repairs.
  • Availability to perform on-site or remote support for infrequent network/critical infrastructure maintenance during scheduled maintenance periods.
  • Able to travel (fly) infrequently to a remote collocation site to accomplish maintenance or installation work. Able to drive self to local collocation site for the same purpose.
  • Able to stoop, crawl or climb for occasional inspection of cables in cabinets, under floors and in ceilings.
  • Able to lift and transport of moderately heavy objects, such as network devices, computers and peripherals. Able to lift 75 pounds overhead.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy & Planning
  • Collaborate with management, and peers to assess and plan for near and long term network capacity needs and to recommend solutions.
  • Create and maintain network documentation policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Design and deploy VPNs, LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including firewalls, servers, routers, hubs, switches, vlans, serial switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
  • Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and deploy software and firmware upgrades.
  • Recommend, interact and negotiate with management, vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services.
Operational Management
  • Configure networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes. Provide appropriate, secure network and internet connectivity for all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network devices.
  • Install, maintain, upgrade and configure firewalls, network devices and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Oversee network security. Perform security audits. Review/correlate firewall, intrusion detection, and network device logs periodically and server/workstation logs, when appropriate. Propose corrective action(s) or response, as necessary.
  • Monitor network performance and identify problems. Propose corrective action(s) or response.
  • Perform asset management, including maintenance of network device, circuit and IP inventory and related technical specification and service documentation.
  • Monitor and test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
  • Participate in managing and maintaining network and IT physical security solutions.
  • Maintain regular backup of firewall and network devices and perform recovery operations.
  • Prepare for and monitor periodic white hat network and web application vulnerability assessments and security reviews. Assist in preparing rebuttals or executing remediation actions to any vulnerability findings.
  • Monitor pertinent trade publications, news groups and weblogs to remain abreast of current vulnerabilities, exploits and emerging technologies that may be applicable to our operations.
  • Support IT and the company in achieving/retaining SAS 70 and ISO 27001 certifications.
  • Provide training to other members of the IT team and company staff.
  • Keep management informed of work progress and/or potential problems.

Senior Sales Representative – Corporate Legal Software

Job Summary
Serengeti Law, the legal industry’s highest-rated and most widely used e-billing and matter management system, is seeking individuals with at least 3 years legal experience for the position of Senior Sales Representative.

Sales Representatives at Serengeti oversee the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract renewal. All demonstrations are conducted via telephone and the Internet to senior-level staff and attorneys at corporate law departments. Candidates must demonstrate a strong legal and technology proficiency, as well as excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Prior experience in sales is a plus.

Note: No travel is required and this is not a commissioned position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist sales support team and marketing department in generating sales leads
  • Develop strategies to engage cold/warm prospects in Salesforce.com database
  • Review Requests for Proposal (RFP) for accuracy
  • Conduct online demonstrations of the Serengeti Tracker system
  • Respond to follow-up pricing and information requests
  • Traffic technical or specialized product questions to the appropriate in-house resource
  • Oversee contract negotiations and yearly renewals conducted by Serengeti legal team
  • Coordinate with the implementation team on system roll-out
  • Provide ongoing relationship support throughout the life of the account
  • Coordinate with the product management team on new features
  • Coordinate with the marketing team on sales collateral and resources

GRAPHIC DESIGNER / MARKETING Associate

Job Summary
Serengeti Law is seeking a graphic designer and production artist to assist with a variety of print and online collateral and other projects. We are looking for someone with a solid design background, a keen creative eye, and proven layout and production skills for both print and Web-based content. The designer/production artist will work across teams and must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills.

Strong writing and copy-editing skills will be a plus when applying for this position. Candidates that can show a proficiency for layout and design, combined with an ability to evaluate message and write content will be preferred.

Qualified candidates will be asked to present a portfolio of work and references.

Responsibilities:
  • Layout print collateral according to existing templates
  • Design and create new print and online marketing collateral
  • Conceptualize and contribute ideas for print ads and campaigns
  • Proactively review and update sales sheets and Web site to ensure accuracy of statistics and other frequently changing data
  • Assist with all aspects of event planning, including design and layout of invitations and pre- and post-event mailers, trade-show booth design, and event handouts
  • Create online tutorials, working from existing scripts
  • Collaborate on and contribute ideas and feedback regarding user interface design of Serengeti Tracker, the company’s flagship product

Qualifications:
