Job Summary
Serengeti is seeking an experienced Program Manager to conceptualize,
manage and define the functional design specifications that will be used
by the Serengeti development team to add new features to Serengeti
Tracker. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about
writing excellent functional design documentation, and works well with
all team members.
Responsibilities:
- Work across multiple groups to translate
customer requirements into product features
- Write functional design specifications and
other documentation of new Serengeti Tracker features, which will be
used by Serengeti’s development team
- Organize Serengeti's internal product
documentation for product management and the development teams, and
make it accessible and useful to everyone at Serengeti
- Organize existing documents, identify
documentation holes and spearhead efforts to fill them in
- Create as well as execute unit and integration
test plans
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of researching and writing
the very best functional design documentation
- Proven self-starter
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal
skills
- Passionate about learning and documenting new
technologies
- Bachelor's degree or higher (Software
Development background is a plus, but not required)
- Strong combination of business acumen,
technical knowledge, and strategic perspective
- Able to balance business and product interests
of the company
- Familiarity with highly interactive, web-based
business products
- Strong product/project management skills in a
web-based environment
- Proven experience managing complex projects
across multiple groups to successful completion

mid-level Software Engineers with industry experience ranging anywhere
from zero to approximately four years. The job responsibilities involve
web application development using the Microsoft .NET Framework. The
position also offers the benefit of full-time telecommuting. If you are

Specific Job Responsibilities
- Create and develop software solutions using
Microsoft’s .NET framework, C#, HTML, and other technologies.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the product’s
frameworks and tools.
- Create and execute unit, integration and
performance test plans, both manual and automated.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance of
production software.
- Attend regular, periodic developer team
meetings at various locations around the greater Chicago
metropolitan area
- Attend occasional meetings at the corporate
office in Bellevue, Washington
Required Technical Training and Skills
- BS in Computer Science or related is required.
- Competence in object-oriented design and
development, using languages such as C++, C#, or Java
- Knowledge of relational database design
concepts and SQL
- Knowledge of web languages including HTML,
DHTML, JavaScript, and CSS
Preferred Skills (not required):
- Programming experience with Microsoft’s
.NET framework (preferred) or J2EE
- DBMS experience, such as MS SQL Server
(preferred), Oracle, or other
- Experience with NUnit, AJAX, XML, Web
Services
- Familiarity with the following: data
structures, code optimization, code re-factoring, design
patterns, multi-tiered architectures, database and query
optimization, stateless server farm architecture, data
conversion, software security, report development, and automated
unit testing.
