Serengeti Creates First Global “Many-to-Many” Legal Network

Serengeti Tracker 6.0 Enables Corporate Legal Departments to Select from Online Directory of Over 4,000 E-Billing Enabled Law Firms Worldwide

Bellevue, Washington — December 1, 2003 — Serengeti Law today announced the release of Serengeti Tracker 6.0 and the Serengeti Tracker Worldwide Directory of Firms. With these enhancements, Serengeti Tracker becomes the first electronic invoicing and matter management system in which in-house counsel can search across all lawyers on the system by jurisdiction and areas of expertise. Currently, there are more than 4,000 law firms in over 100 countries using Serengeti Tracker, including 98% of the AmLaw 100 and 97% of the AmLaw Global 100.

Ground-breaking “Many-to-Many” Legal Network

Tracker’s proprietary architecture was created in response to requests from corporate law departments who wanted to send legal work to law firms that are already on the Serengeti network. With this release, clients are assured that they are retaining firms that are already familiar with the collaborative features in Serengeti Tracker, including electronic billing, document sharing, budgeting, and status reporting.

Law firms now provide a single set of enhanced profiles for their firm and individual attorneys, which describe their areas of expertise, experience, and other relevant information. As with all Serengeti Tracker upgrades, there is no charge to in-house counsel or law firms for this new service.

Leveraging Connections Between In-house and Outside Counsel

“Law departments told us that when they need a new attorney, they want to be able to hit the ground running with qualified firms already on Serengeti” said Rob Thomas, Serengeti’s Vice President of Strategic Development. “This release presents new marketing opportunities for law firms worldwide since over 2,000 in-house counsel will be able to find new attorneys by searching the Tracker Worldwide Directory of Firms.”

These new features further enhance Serengeti's ability to provide the fastest and easiest implementations in the industry. Serengeti is unique in its ability to implement law departments and 100% of their law firms in just 4-6 weeks, with the world’s largest law departments taking less than three months. With this new release, in-house counsel can start working with their law firms immediately by selecting them from the Tracker Worldwide Directory, and "dragging and dropping" them into their panel list.

Additional Enhancements

In addition, Tracker 6.0 contains significant enhancements for both law firm and corporate users. Tracker continues to set the standard for efficient invoice submission with Speed Post™ (single-click posting of multiple LEDES bills), streamlined error correction, and attachment of expense receipts.

For in-house users, Tracker 6.0 adds LEDES line-item editing, making it the only e-billing system which permits line-item adjustments and comments on both LEDES and non-LEDES invoices. New reports are also included in Tracker 6.0, along with enhanced functionality to export data from Tracker for customized reporting.
